Imitatio Christi III./38.

 38.

Jól kell rendeznünk külső dolgainkat, s veszedelem idején Istenhez kell folyamodnunk

Gőzt! a dugattyúra..., a

 lélek irtózik

a rossztól!

- ahogy a Mester

te se hagyd rendetlenül

e világot.

Et instituta a summo Opifice, qui nil inordinatum reliquit in sua creatura.

I.

II.

CHAPTER XXXVIII

Of a good government in external things, and of having recourse to God in dangers

1.

“My Son, for this thou must diligently make thy endeavour, that in every place and outward action or occupation thou mayest be free within, and have power over thyself; and that all things be under thee, not thou under them; that thou be master and ruler of thy actions, not a slave or hireling, but rather a free and true Hebrew, entering into the lot and the liberty of the children of God, who stand above the present and look upon the eternal, who with the left eye behold things transitory, and with the right things heavenly; whom temporal things draw not to cleave unto, but who rather draw temporal things to do them good service, even as they were ordained of God to do, and appointed by the Master Workman, who hath left nought in His creation without aim and end.

2.

“And if in any chance of life thou stand not in outward appearances, nor judgest things which are seen and heard by the fleshly sense, but straightway in every cause enterest with Moses into the tabernacle to ask counsel of God; thou shalt hear a divine response and come forth instructed concerning many things that are and shall be. For always Moses had recourse to the tabernacle for the solving of all doubts and questionings; and fled to the help of prayer to be delivered from the dangers and evil deeds of men. Thus also oughtest thou to fly to the secret chamber of thy heart, and earnestly implore the divine succour. For this cause we read that Joshua and the children of Israel were deceived by the Gibeonites, that they asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord,(1) but being too ready to listen to fair speeches, were deceived by pretended piety.”

Imitatio Christi I./8. ~ "Charitas est habenda ad omnes!"

 8.

Őrizkedni kell a bizalmas barátkozástól

Fiatal még nem ember -

az ellenség az

- de most nem veled együtt

e pajzsfalban.

- adják a "gőzt" a dugattyúra:

Kempis és Filozófus

 szava igaz: mert

Benne egy mind: a Kezdet

- végső célt szolgál

ellenszellem, a démon,

s negatív bodhiszattva

is.

Origenész sem eretnek:

nincs kárhozat, hisz

végül az Egybe olvad

minden: Kerüld

céltalan beszédet,

hogy Dogen tanácsolta...,

ne lopd el senki életét.

I.

A gazdagoknak ne hízelegj, nagy urak körül forgolódni ne igyekezzél.

CHAPTER VIII

Of the danger of too much familiarity

1. Open not thine heart to every man, but deal with one who is wise and feareth God. Be seldom with the young and with strangers. Be not a flatterer of the rich; nor willingly seek the society of the great. Let thy company be the humble and the simple, the devout and the gentle, and let thy discourse be concerning things which edify. Be not familiar with any woman, but commend all good women alike unto God. Choose for thy companions God and His Angels only, and flee from the notice of men.

2. We must love all men, but not make close companions of all. It sometimes falleth out that one who is unknown to us is highly regarded through good report of him, whose actual person is nevertheless unpleasing to those who behold it. We sometimes think to please others by our intimacy, and forthwith displease them the more by the faultiness of character which they perceive in us.

Charitas est habenda ad omnes.

"And amen, I say unto you: Those men are I, and I am they." "On this account have I said unto you aforetime: "Ye will sit on your thrones right and on my left in my kingdom and will rule with me."

"But now then hearken that I may discourse with you progressively concerning the gnosis of that mystery."

"A szépségről mondtam le akkor érted
Milyen nehéz volt, nem is tudhatod,
Milyen keserves, kínlódni a kényszert,
Azt a szabálytalan vonzásu alakot.
Nem tudhattad, mennyire megaláz
Az, ami mágneses áramkörébe köt:

A hevenyészett homlokzat mögött
Az a szeszélyes épitésü váz,
A csontok kitekert, vad geometriája
És fönt az a nagy, zöld varázs,
Villámló kivilágitás,
Az a szertelen akarat,
Mely minden arányt megtagad
S a vonalakat szétzilálja

S ki akkor bűnös voltam a szépségálmu gőgben,
Most, mire a hiányba már boldogan beletörődtem,
A teljességet kivirulni látom!
Milyen könyörtelen Mester ez, milyen dekadens,
Ki szépséget a romlásból teremt,
Milyen kaján törvényü Fátum?
Igy lett ez az álnok görög arány,
Mely a szerelem hajnalt játszó alkonyán
A szenvedésből született meg,
Ez a látszólag egyszerű,
Csupán egy ismeretlenű
S mégse megoldható egyenlet -
S mindegy, hogy végül érted-e,
Az is mindegy, hogy kérted-e:

Ugysincs más útja már a kegyelemnek."
( Vas István, Elsőfokú egyenlet )

"Evil is an integral part of the cosmos, collaborating in its evolution, finally to be absorbed and transfigured by the Good. The great feature of Manicheism is that it studies the function of Evil and of suffering in the world. (...) The function of an ideal in life is like that of steam in an engine. Steam comprises in a small area a vast expanse of 'condensed space hence its tremendous power of expansion. The magic power of thought is of the same nature. Let us then rise to the thought of the ideal of humanity as a whole, guided by the thread of its evolution through the epochs of time." ( Rudolf Steiner, An esoteric cosmology, II. The mission of manicheism, 11 )
